Compare Laguiole en Aubrac Flatware Sets
Laguiole en Aubrac flatware is made in Espalion, in the historic Laguiole area of the Aubrac, by the workshop founded there in 1992. The forks and spoons are each made from a single piece of metal with the shepherd's-cross handle shape, and the table knives use Sandvik knife steel with a 4.33-inch (11 cm) smooth blade. Dinner forks and dinner spoons are 8.75 inches (22 cm) long. What changes from set to set is how many pieces you get, which pieces, and the handle material. This guide puts the sets side by side so you can start small or furnish a whole table at once.

Caring for your flatware
Wash Laguiole en Aubrac flatware by hand in warm water with a little mild soap and dry it straight away. Keep it out of the dishwasher: the heat and detergent dry out wood, crack horn and bone, and dull the polish on the bolsters. Wipe wood and horn handles with a little mineral oil once or twice a year, and store the pieces in their oak case rather than loose in a drawer. Full instructions are on our care and tips page.
