Experience the exceptional craftsmanship of the Laguiole en Aubrac Double-Plated Folding Knife, a masterpiece handmade in France by skilled artisans. Celebrated for its refined elegance, structural strength, and meticulous hand-finishing, this luxury pocket knife represents the finest traditions of French cutlery.

The term double-plated refers to the knife’s distinctive construction, where two stainless steel plates reinforce the spring. This design not only enhances durability but also provides an unmistakable aesthetic. Each pair of plates is individually hand-carved by master cutlers, transforming every knife into a unique work of functional art.

The forged bee and spring are crafted from a single piece of stainless steel and finished entirely by hand, a hallmark of authentic Laguiole en Aubrac knives. The decorative hand-carved plates add another level of sophistication, making this knife highly sought after by collectors and discerning enthusiasts alike.

Whether carried as an everyday companion, displayed in a collection, or presented as a meaningful gift, this Laguiole en Aubrac folding knife embodies generations of French craftsmanship and timeless design.

Ram Crust: The Mountain Written in Horn

Ram horn grows in rings, one ridge laid down after another through the seasons of the animal’s life. In ram crust, the cutler preserves part of that outer surface rather than grinding it away, so the horn’s natural growth marks remain visible beneath a smooth, hand-polished finish.

On this knife, the two faces of the handle tell different parts of that story. One side shows a soft ivory ground crossed by a bold rhythm of smoky brown striations, the horn’s growth ridges running across the scale like bands in weathered stone. The other side is calmer and paler: cream shading into warm honey, with a few fine natural marks and a gentle amber translucency that glows where the horn thins toward its edges. No two ram crust handles carry the same pattern, and this one has unusual contrast between its quiet and expressive sides.

Each scale is hand-selected, shaped, and fitted at the Laguiole en Aubrac workshop and secured with three stainless steel pins. Mirror-polished bolsters frame the horn’s soft, natural tones, while the hand-filed double plates, cut here in a flowing wave pattern around a central leaf motif, add a crisp, sculptural line of steel along the spine.

The result is a handle of warmth and character, made for those who appreciate a material that carries the mark of its origin.
