Experience the exceptional craftsmanship of the Laguiole en Aubrac Double-Plated Folding Knife, a masterpiece handmade in France by skilled artisans. Celebrated for its refined elegance, structural strength, and meticulous hand-finishing, this luxury pocket knife represents the finest traditions of French cutlery.
The term double-plated refers to the knife’s distinctive construction, where two plates reinforce the spring. This design not only enhances durability but also provides an unmistakable aesthetic. Each pair of plates is individually hand-carved by master cutlers, transforming every knife into a unique work of functional art.
The Feather Series
The Feather Series is a collection of four double-plated knives, each crowned with its own uniquely designed fly, so no two models in the series share the same one. On this knife, sculpted feathers flow along the spring and plates, each engraved with fine, radiating barbs and outlined by sweeping, carved lines set against a softly textured, darkened ground. The depth of the carving gives the steelwork an almost three-dimensional quality that changes with every angle of light.
Bee #14 is hand-carved and forged as one piece with the spring. Its wings are engraved with a delicate lattice pattern accented by tiny raised dots, and its head is finished in a fine checkered texture, a miniature sculpture set at the top of the bolster.
Aubrac Beechwood: From the Heart of Laguiole Country
Beech is the signature tree of the Aubrac plateau, the high, windswept region of southern France where the Laguiole knife was born. Carrying a handle of Aubrac beechwood means holding a piece of the landscape that gave this knife its name.
This handle is full of character. Warm honey, caramel, and amber tones are crossed by bold black lines and deeper chocolate shadows, with the fine natural flecks of beech visible across the surface. On one face, dark lines sweep around the traditional shepherd’s cross and curve toward each bolster; on the other, a jagged, flame-like streak of dark wood runs down the center between bands of golden grain. Because every piece of wood is different, no two handles are ever alike.
Paired with brushed stainless steel bolsters and stainless steel pins, the wood’s warm, earthy tones set off the cool, intricate steelwork beautifully. Each scale is hand-selected, shaped, and fitted at the Laguiole en Aubrac workshop.
Whether carried as an everyday companion, displayed in a collection, or presented as a meaningful gift, this Laguiole en Aubrac folding knife embodies generations of French craftsmanship and timeless design.
