Laguiole en Aubrac Folding Knife — Full Handle Series L0512
The L0512 Full Handle series strips the classic Laguiole down to its purest line. With no stainless steel bolsters at either end, the handle material runs uninterrupted from the spring to the tip of the handle, so the natural beauty of the buffalo horn becomes the whole story. Forged, fitted and finished by hand in Espalion, in the historic Laguiole region of France, it is a knife made to be carried, used and handed down.
The Full Handle Difference
On the L0512, the handle material is the handle. Where the classic L0212 frames its scales between two polished stainless steel bolsters, the full handle design carries the horn from end to end in one continuous piece of material. The result is a lighter, warmer feel in the hand and a sleeker, more contemporary silhouette.
Features
- Japanese Damascus steel blade — An upgrade from the series' standard Sandvik 12C27 blade. Its layered steel shows a unique flowing pattern, holds a keen edge, and is made to last a lifetime.
- Genuine buffalo horn full handle — Each handle is unique, with its own natural depth and grain. No two knives are alike.
- Shepherd's cross inlay — The traditional mark of the Aubrac shepherds, set by hand into the front side of the handle.
- Hand-forged bee and spring — The emblematic bee and the spring are forged together from a single piece of steel, then hand-finished.
- Fully handmade — Assembled and finished by a single cutler, from first fitting to final polish.
- Blade length: 4.75 in (12 cm)
- Weight: 2.69 oz (76.5 g)
- Certificate of authenticity — Every knife ships with its certificate, guaranteeing its origin.
- Made in Espalion, France — Crafted in the historic Laguiole region of the Aubrac plateau.
Care
- Hand wash and dry immediately; never put it in the dishwasher.
- Avoid prolonged soaking, which can damage the horn handle.
- Wipe a thin film of oil on the blade before storing.
- Nourish the horn now and then with a drop of neutral oil.
